How To Get More Followers & Likes on Instagram
Have you ever noticed that it’s especially hard to grow your Instagram audience compared to other social platforms like Twitter? Well, don’t worry, you’re not alone. But with a little (okay, maybe more than a little) effort, this goal is certainly within reach.
Here are four Instagram strategies that can be applied to business and personal accounts.
Post quality content.
Quality over quantity is the mantra for most social networks, and Instagram is no exception. Since Instagram is primarily a visual platform, your photos should be beautiful and compelling. Even if you don’t have access to Photoshop or an expensive camera, there are plenty of photo editing apps out there that can give your images a professional edge.
Share Instagram Stories.
An Instagram Story is a photo or video that you post to your account that disappears after 24 hours. If you post yours strategically, you can show up in public Instagram Stories for specific locations and hashtags. All you have to do is include a location or hashtag in your Story. That way, people who are watching public Stories can come across your content organically.
Include relevant hashtags.
Hashtags are a great way for people to find your Instagram posts when searching for relevant content. Using the “Search” tab in your Instagram app, you can begin researching tags that make the most sense for your posts.
For example, if you’re sharing an image of a recent recipe you made, you can search for hashtags like #dinner, #meals, and #recipes to see what comes up. You’ll also be able to see how many posts are associated with each hashtag. Make sure you include some hashtags that have lower quantities of posts, since that means you’ll have less competition.
Engage with other users.
Just like on other social networks, engagement on Instagram is key to building your audience. When you see that someone new has followed you or liked one your posts, what do you normally do? You check them out to see if they’re someone you want to follow back. Well, it works both ways. When you put yourself out there in the Instagram community and initiate interactions with other users, you inevitably draw their attention to your account.
